For a hot July week every summer over since 2013, a dedicated group of parishioners has opened the doors of St. Andrew’s to Making Your Mark Art Camp. Meeting an acknowledged community need, Making Your Mark offers five full days of wide-ranging creative activities to up to 24 local children, many of whose families cannot afford the enrichment activities their peers often take for granted.

We all know of children who, for a variety of reasons, spend much of their summer with little to do, often resulting in “summer slide,” the tendency for students to lose some of the academic gains they have made during the previous school year. To combat this problem, which tends to imperil the school success of our target group of children, MYM offers its fourth to sixth grade campers five days of creativity, fellowship and fun in a welcoming and noncompetitive environment where each child feels loved and valued. From the daily 7:30 AM breakfast to the 4:00PM closing circle, parish members support volunteer artists as they engage the students in a variety of stimulating and mind- expanding workshops. Our annual Friday afternoon art reception gives our proud campers the opportunity to share their artistic success with family and friends. But equally important, it gives a group of tired but fulfilled volunteers the chance to see a glimmer of God’s love in the smiling eyes of each and every camper/artist.

We are always looking for new volunteers - artists, chefs, activity leaders (bridge, yoga, journaling, story telling, music etc.), teen counselors and JC’s, AM and PM camp leaders, set up and clean-up crew - SO if you want to answer Christ’s call to “reach out in love” in a sometimes challenging but always inspiring program, please contact the church office and we’ll get you connected.
